Summary
We have received reports of push notification issues on iOS devices for some existing devices deployed in the field. Not all machines are affected by our observation based on the data. Affected models are NVR-MX08/16-1U4K1 and NVR-FX08/16-1U4K1.
The root of the issue has been identified. A quick fix was applied to the ICVIEW+ mobile app. App version 1.2 has been released to the app store and is available for download. Clients will need to load up cameras after updating to establish a connection with the recorder. Some may need to unsubscribe and resubscribe.
For a more permanent fix, the affected recorders will need a firmware update applied to them to prevent the issue from occurring next year. A test firmware has been developed and proven to resolve the issue. We are putting it through our public release test process.
Symptoms
Previously working push notifications are no longer being received on iOS devices, while Android devices connected to the same machine are still working. Some users have had success with updating recorder firmware.
Resolution
The firmware fix (20-13-2023) for the affected units can be found using this link.
