Summary
On 12/22/21, IC Realtime has received reports from users in various regions that they could not register new products or login to their existing products from our Software Applications (ICRSS Pro, SmartICRSS, ICView) when using the ICDDNS or P2P connection method. This is primarily due to Amazon (AWS) server datacenter outages, which host our ICDDNS and P2P services.
Symptoms
Users of these Apps may receive a "Connection Failed!" error message when trying to reach their sites.
Some users may fail to register new devices to our ICDDNS or P2P servers and will receive a network error.
Some new devices will register to the services but be unreachable.
Example: Registering a new ICDDNS and getting a successful test, but when pinging the address, it will not resolve.
Resolution
At this time, most services are up and running. Some users may still be experiencing intermittent issues as all devices reconnect.
Newly registered devices to ICDDNS are still experiencing issues, and we are actively working on resolving them.
We will continue to monitor the rest of the services as we work to resolve the remaining issues.
Status Update
Issues have been resolved, and all services are currently stable. New devices that were newly registered on 12-22-2021, if they are still experiencing problems, will be required to register their units again. The simplest way is to disable the service (P2P/DDNS) and enable it again or restart your unit.
We appreciate your patience as we worked to resolve the issues caused by Amazon's outages.
