This article will go over basic point to point setup with Engenius beams.
Out of the box, a single point to point dish set is already paired and ready to communicate with each other and is configured to auto acquire an IP address through DHCP. If you do not have DHCP click Here
Simply connect the first dish into the existing network at Point A. While all the other devices will connect to the second dish. Once they are all powered and the dishes are pointing at each other, your network should connect.
How to Statically Assign IP Addresses
Once logged in, you can change the device to a static IP by clicking on "Basic" under "Network".
- Under IPV4 Settings, select Static IP. Enter the desired IP, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and the Primary and Secondary DNS. Change the AP to a different IP, such as 192.168.1.20. It is not recommended to leave the AP on the default IP
-
Click "Save" in the bottom left.
Note: After saving the settings, you will see a prompt on the bottom right of the page. You can click Apply to apply the settings immediately.
Some Additional Notes
Both point to points MUST be statically assigned to different IP addresses. Best practice would be to have them have IP's "next to each other" i.e: 192.168.1.20 & 192.168.1.21
