IPVMX and IPVFX IP Cameras

Introduction

IC Realtime's IPVMX and IPVFX model IP line are basic, no frills, ONVIF-compatible cameras. Unlike IC Realtime's core lineup, these cameras have several differences and nuances unique to them.

IPVMX/ IPVFX cameras will be added to IC Realtime (and other third-party) NVRs as an ONVIF device. This requires the cameras to be plugged into an external switch. Plugging the cameras into an NVR built-in POE is not supported unless the NVR has Bridge Mode feature equipped and enabled, allowing the camera to acquire a local IP on the network.

Finding the Cameras on the Network

1. To find the cameras on the local network, download and run the Scanner App, available here. 
2. If the Scanner App does not find any devices, click on Settings.
   You can then set the correct subnet by selecting "Search in Other Network Segment" or select "Search in Current Network Segment" to search the current subnet the PC running the software is on. 
3. If the device is not initialized, 
   
   Select the device then click "Initialize."If this button does not appear, click on Device Config, then click back to IP Change. 
4. You can also access the camera web UI to initialize the camera. This allows you to set the password for the device as well.
   
5. It is recommended to set the cameras on a static IP before adding to an NVR/VMS. To set the camera IP, go to Main Menu > Settings > Basic > Network > TCP/IP.  Check in the Static option then click Save.
   

Adding IPVMX/ IPVX Cameras to IC Realtime NVRs

This setup assumes you have found and identified the camera(s) on your local network and initialized them. The cameras will also need to be connected to the local network with an external switch or an NVR built-in POE with Bridge Mode enabled.

1. Login to the NVR. Navigate to Main Menu > Advanced Settings > Camera Configuration (For older Models, go to Main Menu > Camera > Remote Device).
2. Click on Manual Add
   
   
3. Select the manufacturer as ONVIF then input the login credentials for the camera. Specify the HTTP port if it was changed from the default value of 80.
   
   Click OK when finished to add.
4. The camera should appear in the Added Devices section.
   

Other Notes:

• The camera can be added to third-party recorders/ VMS systems via ONVIF or RTSP. The RTSP URL is the same as our current main line cameras.
• If added to an IC Realtime unit, the camera will not have any events apart from basic motion detect. You can use AI by NVR to impart intelligence if necessary.
• The camera is equipped with Intelligent Motion Detect and IVS. While some recorders such as IC Realtime may not be able to take advantage of these, other VMS systems such as Checkt can leverage some of the Intelligence.
