Introduction
The guide here will cover how to add cameras/ devices to the NVR-8256-V2. This setup assumes the NVR-8256-V2 has been initialized and connected to a local network.
Setup
- Login to the NVR using the local, Web GUI or NVRSS-Pro.
- Click the gear (
) icon on the top right side, then click on Camera.
Click "+Add" () to open the Add Device Menu.
- In the Add Device menu, you have several camera-adding methods you can use:
Smart Add:
Here, you can perform a scan of the local network by clicking Start Search () to add IC Realtime or ONVIF devices. You can also click on Set IPC Password (
) to change the login credentials to match the devices you want to add.
You can also initialize cameras by selecting uninitialized cameras and then clicking Initialize.
To add devices here, select any number of devices that were scanned, then click Add () in the bottom right.
Manual Add:
This section allows you to manually input the camera/ device information you want to add, including the manufacturer type, such as Private (Leave on Private for IC Realtime cameras), ONVIF or other third-party manufacturers. YOu can also input the IP and port numbers for the devices you want to add.
RTSP:
This allows you to add devices via RTSP. This is typically for third- party cameras that are not ONVIF compliant. Here, you can input the RTSP strings for the Main and sub streams.
Batch Import:
This section is for importing backed-up device files.
Click Browse to navigate to the exported file, click either Add or Overwrite (Add or overwrite to the current device list), and then click Import to import the devices.
