IC Now: Account and Role Setup

Introduction

IC Now's 03.22.25 version adds the Account and Role feature. This enables the creation of different Roles with customized permissions and accounts under those roles. Permissions such as Live view, Playback, and Devices configuration can be limited per user and role. The software will have an Admin account and role by default.

Configuration

1. Run IC Now (03.22.25 version or newer) and login. The account management will appear in the top right of the software with the icon. Click on this icon, then select User Manager.
   
2. The Account Management section will appear. The left column will have several options, as shown below:
   
3. Creating a Role: Click on the icon to create a new Role. The Role Info Menu will appear with several options, as shown below.
   
   After creating a Role Name and selecting the Permissions under Menu Rights, click on "Save" at the bottom right. To save the Role. The new Role will appear in the Users/ Roles tree.
   
4. Creating a User: Select an existing Role (if not, the user will be created under the "Admin" role), then click on the icon to create a new user. The new user configuration screen will appear, as shown below.
   
   Create a username for the new user, then create a password (you will need to retype this password under Confirm Password).
   Note: The user password should be at least 8 characters and include at least 3 types of letters, numbers and characters.
   
   Select a Role in the drop-down if other roles have been created. You can then select the Menu rights for that user. Note that the Menu Rights will appear according to the permissions of that role.
   The new user will appear in the Users/ Roles tree under the appropriate Role.
   
5. You can switch users by clicking on the icon and selecting "Switch user."
