When setting up your unit, new or existing, there are general best practices to follow to ensure your security system records events in a way that is easy to identify specific recorded events during playback reviewal.
By default, the recorder will be set-up to record continuously 24/7. Your schedule settings will look similar to the example below:
While there is nothing wrong with this configuration, we can make a couple changes to the schedule to help identify certain events that may have occurred that one of your cameras would have seen.
Our first adjustment will be to add Motion Detection or IVS to the schedule. Click Setup to configure the record schedule. In the first example below, we will use Motion Detection (MD).
In this example, we've configured the schedule to be recording 24/7 as well as recording any motion detection events in any case. This will create redundancy as well as mark any events on your playback timeline for easier reviewal.
Below is an example recording 24/7 with IVS instead of Motion Detection.
