This guide provides a walkthrough on how to add an IC Realtime camera or NVR to the IC View Pro app. This article assumes remote access is already configured. P2P is enabled by default on all modern machines.
Adding a Device
IC View Pro supports adding devices using either P2P or IP/Domain connections. P2P is the easiest and recommended method, requiring no additional network configuration. If you choose IP/Domain, you will need to configure your network for remote access by forwarding the device’s TCP port. For stability, we recommend using a DDNS address (not provided by IC Realtime) or a static public IP address, as dynamic public IPs can change and interrupt connectivity.
Press the '+' icon on the top right of the home screen.
Image 1 - Home Screen - Choose between:
- Scan QR Code - P2P connection. Easiest method and is enabled by default on all machines. Allows manual entry if code is not available for scanning. Input the serial number if manually entering.
- Manually Add/Bluetooth Search - Searches devices via Bluetooth. At this time, no current product supports Bluetooth search.
- IP/Domain - Adds direct IP address or domain name. This can be a LAN IP address, Public IP address, or domain name, e.g. DDNS address. Not recommended as remote access requires router configuration to work.
- Search on LAN - Will scan the network to locate devices. This will only work when the phone is connected to the same network even after setting it up. This is a local-only connection.
- When adding, you can select Local or Account.
- Local: This saves the device information on the local device only (phone, tablet, etc). If the app is deleted, all device information will be lost.
- Account: This saves the device information on your logged-in cloud account. You can access your devices from other mobile phones, etc by logging into this account.
Note: This feature is only supported in upcoming firmware.
- Select the device type. The most common will be NVR or HDVR as these are video recorders. You can also choose the appropriate camera option if you have a standalone camera without a video recorder.
Image 2 - Device Type Selection - Input the following device information:
- Name - How the device will be referenced in the app. You can name this whatever you want.
- Username - Username for the device. The default username is admin. Usernames are case sensitive.
- Password - Password for the aforementioned user. Passwords are case sensitive.
- Address (IP/Domain only) - Depending on connection type, this will be a local IP address, public IP address, or a domain name.
- Port (IP/Domain only) - TCP port of the device. Can be found within the network menu of the device. Default is 32789 for modern recorders and 37777 for cameras. Remote connection requires port forwarding
