IC Secure Desktop allows users to review recorded video using the Replay interface. This article explains how to open recorded footage, use the timeline, control playback speed, synchronize multiple cameras, and search by time.
Opening Recorded Footage
There are two ways to open recorded footage
| Method | Description |
|---|---|
| Toolbar | Click Search in the main toolbar. The Search menu is used to review events. |
| Camera Feed | Hover over the camera feed and choose the replay option in the top right. |
The Timeline Bar
The timeline bar appears at the bottom of the Replay interface and is used to navigate recorded video.
| Timeline Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Colored Segments | Shows periods where recordings are available. Different colors may indicate recording types, such as continuous, event-triggered, or manual recording. |
| Gray Gaps | Shows periods where no recording is available. |
| Playback Cursor | The vertical line that shows the current playback position. Click a point on the timeline to jump to that time. |
| Date Selector | Allows users to select a specific date from the calendar. |
| Timeline Zoom | Allows users to zoom in for a closer view of shorter time periods or zoom out to view a larger time range. |
Replay Controls
| Control | Action |
|---|---|
| Play / Pause | Start or pause footage at the current position. |
| Stop | Stop footage and return to the beginning of the selected segment. |
| Step Forward | Advance one frame at a time while footage is paused. |
| Step Backward | Move back one frame at a time while footage is paused. |
| Speed | Adjust playback speed. |
| Timestamp | Displays the exact date and time of the current footage position. |
| Synchronize | Synchronizes footage if reviewing multiple cameras. |
Playback speed options may include 1/8x, 1/4x, 1/2x, 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, and 16x.
Tip: Use slower playback speeds and frame stepping when reviewing critical incidents. This can help identify details that may be missed at normal playback speed.
Multi-Camera Synchronized Playback
IC Secure can synchronize footage across multiple cameras. This allows users to review an event from different camera angles at the same time.
To use synchronized playback:
- Open the Replay interface.
- Drag multiple cameras from the camera tree into the grid.
- Select a point on the timeline.
- Optional-use the synchronize button from the replay controls
All selected cameras synchronize to the same timestamp. Replay controls, including play, pause, and speed, apply to cameras in the replay grid.
Synchronized playback is useful when reviewing a person, vehicle, or event across multiple camera views.
Searching by Time
To jump to a specific date and time:
- Click the timestamp display in the replay controls
- Enter the target date and time in the Calendar window.
The timeline cursor jumps to the selected time. If recorded video is available, playback begins from that point.
Users can also use Event Search to find recordings associated with alarms, motion detection, or other supported events. Selecting an event opens the associated footage.
Calendar Overview
The calendar overview helps users identify which days have recorded footage.
To use the calendar overview:
- Click the calendar icon near the date selector.
- Review the monthly calendar.
- Select a day with recorded footage.
The selected day loads in the timeline.
Days with recordings may be marked with colored indicators. This can help verify recording availability and locate footage from a specific date.
