IC Secure Desktop allows users to export recorded video clips for review or sharing. This article explains how to select a clip, configure export options, choose a file format, and manage exported files.
Selecting a Clip to Export
To select a clip for export:
- Open Replay and navigate to the footage you want to export.
- Click Export Clips.
- Move the start and end markers on the timeline.
- Optional: Manually set the start and end times in 24-hour format.
- Confirm the timeline highlights the selected range.
- Click Export in the toolbar to open the export window.
Tip: After setting the start and end markers, you may also be able to right-click the timeline and select Export Range.
Export Options
The export window allows users to configure what gets exported.
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Time Frame | The start and end time for the exported video clip. |
| Format | The exported file format. |
| Encryption | Enables encrypted export options when supported and required. |
Click Export to begin exporting the selected clip. A progress bar to the right of Export Clips shows export status. Large clips and multi-camera exports may take several minutes.
Format Options
IC Secure supports multiple export formats.
| Format | Extension | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| AVI | .avi | Standard video format with broad media player compatibility. |
| 3GP | .3gp | Mobile friendly export format. |
AVI exports are standard video files that can be played in compatible media players.
3GP exports are generated by IC Secure when that format is selected. Playback compatibility may depend on the selected export options and the media player being used.
Encrypted Exports
IC Secure may support encrypted exports when encryption is enabled in the export window.
To export an encrypted clip:
- In the export window, enable Encryption.
- Enter the password required for the encrypted export.
- Confirm the export format and time range.
- Click Export.
Keep the export password in a secure location. IC Realtime cannot recover an export password if it is lost.
Digital Watermark
Digital watermark options may be available when exporting video. Available options depend on the export format and system configuration.
When a watermark is rendered into the exported video, it becomes part of the video image.
Managing Exported Files
After exporting, files are saved to the output path selected in the export window.
Store exported files according to your organization’s file retention and handling policy. If the footage is needed for formal review, confirm the required file format and handling process before sharing the export.
