Some cameras can store video on a local SD card. IC Secure Mobile can review SD card recordings when the camera is added directly and the camera supports onboard recording.
SD card recordings are useful for standalone cameras or as a backup recording source when local camera recording is enabled.
Requirements
- SD card recording review requires a compatible camera with an installed SD card and available recordings.
- The camera must be added directly to IC Secure Mobile. The camera must also support onboard recording and recorded video review from the mobile app.
- Valid camera credentials are required. The SD card must also be installed, initialized, and configured for recording on the camera.
Opening SD Card Recordings
When a directly added camera has available SD card recordings, use the recorded video controls to review the footage.
To open SD card recordings:
- Open the directly added camera in Liveview.
- Tap the screen to show the toolbar.
- Tap the recorded video icon.
- Select the date and time you want to review.
The timeline loads the available recordings from the camera’s SD card.
Browsing Recordings
Select a date to view recordings from that day. The timeline shows where recorded video is available.
Drag the timeline to move to the time you want to review. Gaps in the timeline may indicate periods where no recording is available.
Recording Controls
SD card recording review uses similar controls to other recorded video in IC Secure Mobile.

Supported Cameras
Not all cameras support SD card recording review from the mobile app. To verify support, check the camera specifications for SD card recording or edge recording.
If an SD card is installed but recordings are not available in the app, confirm that the camera supports the feature and that SD card recording is configured on the camera.
Tips
SD card recordings are limited by the card’s storage capacity. Older footage may be overwritten when the card fills up, so time-sensitive footage should be reviewed promptly.
SD card recording availability depends on the camera model, SD card status, recording schedule, and network connection between the mobile device and the camera.
If your system uses an IC Secure server for recording, server recording is generally recommended for longer retention and centralized management. SD card recording is best suited for standalone cameras or as a backup recording source.
