This guide will cover how to setup privacy masking on a recorder.
Privacy masking allows you to maintain personal privacy by allowing you to block out certain parts of the camera's image to your liking with a masked area. Masked areas will not show up on live view, or the playback footage.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Login to the recorder using your username and password.
2. Go into your "Main Menu" and click on the "Advanced" settings.
3. Now, click-on "Camera Configuration."
4. From here, you will want to click on "Video Stream" settings.
5. Finally, click on the "Overlay" tab. Then, enable "Cover Area".
You'll now have up to four different privacy masking options you can create. Start by clicking "1", and a transparent box should appear on the screen. You can expand or contract the box to your liking. If you need additional boxes, you can click on "2, 3, and 4."
(Depending on what system version you are on, you may need to navigate slightly different, however, the general process should be the same.)
