This needs to be simplified and divided between legacy and newer devices
Almost all of our devices - recorders, cameras, and switches - have Web GUIs. Web GUIs, or Graphic User Interfaces, are a way you can interact with our equipment through a web browser.
This article is intended to guide you to find and log into the web GUI of your IC Realtime product.
Table of Contents
1. Finding the IP Address
You can find the IP address of your IC Realtime device in three ways: Using the Config Tool, a Network Scanner, or by checking the Network Settings on the Local Interface (HDMI out).
Using the Config Tool:
Download and install the Config Tool at this download page.
The Config Tool will automatically scan the network and find IC Realtime products, listing their IP Addresses. You can also click the "Web" option at the far right to open that device's web GUI in Internet Explorer.
Using a Network Scanner:
This is fairly straight-forward. IC Realtime products are set to DHCP out of the box, so you should be able to find our devices using an IP scanner like Angry IP or Advanced IP Scanner.
Using the Local Interface:
On the 4.0 interface (Black, White, and Red), navigate to Main Menu > Advanced Settings > Network Settings > TCP/IP. The IP Address for all NICs should be listed.
On the 3.2 and earlier units (Blue/Gray with Green), navigate to Main Menu > Setting > Network > TCP/IP. The IP Address for all NICs should be listed.
2. Browser Compatibility
Units on the 4.0 interface are fully HTML5 compatible - you can use any modern browser to access these.
Units on the 3.2 or earlier interfaces require an ActiveX plugin in order to access. Modern browsers do not use ActiveX, so accessing the web GUI of these units can be done in three ways:
1. Microsoft Edge in IE mode (recommended)
- Refer to Using Microsoft Edge browser with units not compatible with HTML5 article.
2. Internet Explorer
- Refer to Installing Web plugins on Internet Explorer article.
3. Easy Viewer extension in Chrome (not recommended)
- The Easy Viewer extension opens a miniature browser that will run the ActiveX plugin, but is no longer supported.
3. Default Password (Legacy)
If the device being accessed is on a legacy firmware and lists as "Initialized" in the Config Tool but doesn't prompt you to change the password, it's possible that it uses default credentials. After the first time signing in the unit will ask you to change its password.
Default credentials:
Username: admin
Password: admin
