Note: The cameras must be reachable by the Apple TV. Cameras need to be on an external PoE switch or an NVR with bridge mode support. Legacy recorders that have cameras connected to the built-in PoE switch will not work. An NVR will support bridge mode if the option is available in Advanced Settings -> Network -> Switch.
IC Realtime TV is available for free on the Apple TV App Store.
Installation Steps
- On your Apple TV, open the App Store.
- Search for IC Realtime TV.
- Select the app and press Get to download and install.
- Once installed, the app will appear on your Apple TV home screen.
Before You Launch
Make sure your setup is ready:
- Your cameras are powered on and connected to your local network (wired or Wi-Fi).
- Your Apple TV is on the same network as your cameras. The app discovers cameras over the local network, so they need to be reachable from your Apple TV.
- Have your camera credentials ready. If your cameras require authentication (most do), you'll need the username and password during first-time setup.
Network Tips
- A wired Ethernet connection for your Apple TV is recommended for the best streaming performance, especially when viewing multiple cameras simultaneously.
- Ensure your network allows device-to-device communication (some enterprise or guest networks block this).
- If your cameras and Apple TV are on different VLANs or subnets, ensure multicast traffic can route between them.
