Managing the Device List in IC Secure Mobile

IC Secure device management allows users to add, edit, organize, and remove cameras and servers from the mobile app. These tools help keep the device list organized as systems grow.

Device List

The device list shows the cameras and servers added to the app.

Item	Description
Device Name	The friendly name assigned to the device, or the default name pulled from the device.
Status Indicator	Shows the current device status, such as online, offline, or connection error.
Thumbnail Preview	Shows a recent snapshot or live preview from the camera.
Connection Type	Shows whether the device is connected through an IC Secure server, direct IP connection, or LAN discovery.

Adding Devices

Tap the Add Device button or + icon to add a new camera or server.

Editing a Device

To update an existing device:

1. Open the device list.
2. Select the device you want to edit.
3. Tap Edit, or long-press the device and select Edit.
4. Update the fields as needed.

5. Tap Save to apply the changes.

Field	Description
Name	A descriptive name for the device, such as Warehouse Cam 3 or Front Gate Server.
Address / Port	The device connection address and port. Update this if the device address changed or the network configuration was updated.
Credentials	The username and password used to connect to the device.

Removing a Device

To remove a device from the app:

1. Open the device list.
2. Select the device you want to remove.
3. Tap Edit, or long-press the device and select Delete.
4. Confirm the removal.

Removing a device from IC Secure only removes it from the mobile app’s device list. It does not delete the camera or server, change its configuration, or remove it from the network. The device can be added again later.

Favorites

Favorites allow frequently used cameras to appear in a dedicated area for quicker access.

To add a camera to Favorites, tap the Star icon next to the device or long-press the device and select Add to Favorites. To remove a favorite, tap the Star icon again or select Remove from Favorites.

Favorites are useful for larger systems where users only need quick access to certain cameras.

Sorting and Organizing

For systems with many devices, IC Secure provides tools to help organize the device list.

Option	Description
Sort by Name	Sorts devices alphabetically for easier lookup.
Sort by Status	Groups devices by status, such as online or offline.
Group by Server	Groups cameras under the IC Secure server they belong to.
Search	Filters the device list by name or IP address.

Tips

Use clear names that reference the camera’s physical location, such as Building A - East Entrance instead of Camera 7.

Review the device list periodically and remove devices that are no longer used. If a camera appears offline but is powered on, edit the device and save it again to trigger a new connection attempt.
