The IC Secure mobile app can connect to an IC Secure server, scan the local network for compatible devices, or add a device manually by IP address.
Connecting to an IC Secure Server
For most systems, add the IC Secure server instead of adding each camera one at a time. When the app connects to the server, it can load cameras managed by that system and provide access to supported live view and recorded video features.
To connect to the IC Secure server:
- Open IC Secure and tap the Add Device button or the + icon.
- Select Server as the connection type.
- Enter the connection details provided by your installer or system administrator.
- Tap Save or Connect.
- The app connects to the server and loads the camera list.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Server Address | The IP address or hostname of the IC Secure server. |
| Port | The server connection port. Your installer or system administrator can provide this. |
| Username | Your IC Secure login username. |
| Password | Your IC Secure login password. |
LAN Scan
If your phone is on the same local network as the cameras, IC Secure can scan the network for compatible devices.
To add a device by LAN scan:
- Tap Add Device.
- Select LAN Scan.
- Wait for the app to scan the local network.
- Select a camera from the discovered device list.
- Enter the camera username and password when prompted.
Note: LAN scan requires the mobile device to be on the same local network as the devices being added. Enterprise networks, VLAN isolation, or network security settings may prevent discovery.
Direct IP Connection
If a camera is not discovered by LAN scan, you can add it manually by IP address.
To add a camera manually:
- Tap Add Device.
- Select Manual or IP Address.
- Enter the device information.
- Tap Save.
- The app attempts to connect and displays the camera in the device list.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | A friendly name for the camera, such as Front Lobby or Loading Dock. |
| IP Address | The camera IP address on the network. |
| Port | The camera HTTP or HTTPS port. |
| Username | The camera login username. |
| Password | The camera login password. |
Verifying Your Connection
After adding a device, verify that the connection is working. Open the device in live view and confirm video loads correctly.
If the connection fails, confirm the address, port, username, and password. If using remote access, confirm that remote access has been configured for the network.
