Online Updating Recorders

Introduction

Online updates are available for select IC Realtime NVR and HDVR models (other supported models will this function in the future). When performing an update, do not unplug/ disconnect any Recorders undergoing a firmware update. Also note that if a device is on a test or unreleased firmware version, the online update may not function as the device should be on "R" (Release) version firmware.

Web/ Local UI Updating (Directly to IPC)

These instructions cover updating a Recorder by logging into its local interface (such as HDMI) or web UI directly using its IP address. This setup assumes the Recorder has already been initialized and connected to a network accessible using a PC.

1.  Log in to the Recorder using a web browser or local Interface.
   
   
   
2. From the Main Menu, go to Advanced Settings> System Operation > Maintenance/ System Maintain
   
   
3. Under the Maintenance/ System Maintain, click on the Update/ System Upgrade tab, then click on Manual Check.
   
   
   
4. If any newer firmware is detected, it will be displayed with changelogs.
   
   Click on Upgrade Now to download and apply the firmware update.
   
   
   
5. While the Recorder is updating, ensure it does not disconnect from the internet or power down, which can cause the unit to brick. The Recorder will reboot once the firmware update is completed.
