Introduction
When a device sends an SMTP (email) message to Immix, Immix will receive it, and try to determine how to handle the alarm. Once Immix will receives the message, given the right setup will raise the alarm to an operator regardless of the rule that sends the alert e.g. IVS, iMD, basic motion detection, audio detection, etc.
Testing site
Immix has provided a test site that does not mirror what an Immix software deployment looks like, but it does process the SMTP alerts in the same manner. The URL to access this site is: https://testmydevice.immixprotect.com/alarmtest
Creating the test instance
After accessing the provided URL to perform the following steps:
- Left click in the "Search Devices" field located in the upper left of the page
- Enter ICR
- Select ICRealTime
- Left click Create Alarm Session button
Programming your IPC or Recorder
After creating a new test alarm instance you will be provided with a Alarms Link, SMTP server, & Email address. The alarms link is a URL pointing back to the alarm test results page while the SMTP server and email address will be the two pieces of information that will need to be programmed into your IC Realtime device.
Next you will log into your IC Realtime IPC or Recorder navigate to the network settings and select Email settings. Once the email settings section has loaded perform the following steps:
- Enable the service
- Input the IP address provided by Immix into the SMTP Server field
- Set the port as 25
- Uncheck the Anonymous option
- Set the Username, Password, & Sender to use the Immix provided email address (the username may be truncated, that's ok)
- Set Encryption Type to None
- For the Subject line input your desired title / phrase and check the Attachment box
- Input the Immix provided email address as a Receiver and click the + (plus) / Add button.
- To finalize the settings click the OK / Apply button.
- After all the settings have been input and verified click the Test button. You should see a test successful message.
