Introduction
Most IC Realtime Recorders have Disk Group configuration. This means the multiple Hard Drives installed on that recorder can be organized into groups that can then be configured to have certain channels recording or saving snapshots to a specific Disk Group.
Setup
- Login to the NVR. Navigate to the Main Menu > Advanced Settings > Storage Settings > Disk Group
- Under the Disk Group tab, the Hard Drives installed on the recorder will be listed along with the disk group they belong to.
- Click on the Disk Group dropdown for a hard Drive of your choice. Select the group number to set to the Hard Drive. Click Apply to save when finished.
- Once you have organized your Hard Drives into different Disk Groups, you can select the Main Stream, Sub Stream or Snapshot tabs. You can then select a disk group for each channel within those tabs. Click Apply to save when finished.
Limitations
- Stay under 400 Mb/s for a single Disk Group. This can be calculated by the total bit rates for all the channels recording or saving snapshots to a single Disk Group.
- Exceeding this limitation can cause a Storage overload error in Recorders.
- It is recommended to create multiple Disk Groups especially in scenarios with 30+ high-megapixel IP cameras.
