Web Interface Setup:
Step 1: Open Internet Explorer and enter the IP address of the recorder (default is http://192.168.1.108 or http://192.168.1.199). In most cases, the recorders will be on DHCP and will grab a new address when being plugged into the network. You can go to our support page and download our ICIP|DVR|NVR Finder Utility or log into the recorder and navigate to the network settings to determine the IP address. Once on this page please log into the recorder’s admin account. Default username: admin password: admin.
Step 2: We will need to navigate to the email settings. Top right of the page select Setup. Select Network from the list on the left and then select EMAIL or SMTP.
Step 3: On this page, you will need to fill in all the information for your mailing server SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol). Gmail settings and Yahoo Settings provided to you in the Mail Server Info Section. The example photo shows how to should be when using Gmail.
Username and Sender fields will be the email being used. After entering the information select Save and then select Test. It will send a test email if email settings are set correctly you will get an email sent success notification.
- It is recommended to have a new separate email to send the notifications instead of personal emails.
- If you don't want snapshots in your notifications and just want the base notifications you can skip the remaining steps.
Step 4: The next step is to set what event will cause the snapshot to be taken and then sent. In this setup, we will be using Motion Detect. From the menu on the left select EVENT, then select VIDEO DETECT. Select the channel to which you want to be notified about. Check the Enable box to enable Motion Detect for that camera. Select the checkbox for Snapshot and select the checkbox for Send Email. Click OK or Save at the bottom to save the setting.
Step 5: After enabling motion recording we will need to enable Snapshot Recording under Storage. Select Storage from the list on the left side. Select SCHEDULE. Once on this page select the Snapshot tab. Select the channel that you enabled motion recording for and that you would want the Snapshot taken for. On the right of the Schedule select Setup. On the new window select the checkbox for MD and select all days of the week. Select OK to save the setup and select OK again to save the setting.
Step 6: After setting up the SCHEDULE the next step is to enable to snapshot recording. Select Record from the list on the left under Storage. On this page, you will see Main Stream, Sub Stream, and Snapshot. Under Snapshot by default, it is set to Disable/Stop/Off. Go to the channel(s) that your recording Snapshots for and set it to Enable/Open/Start. Select OK at the bottom of the screen.
Local Interface Setup:
Step 1: We will need to navigate to the email settings. Right-click with the mouse on the screen and select Main Menu from the drop-down list. Navigate the Settings and select Network from the list on the left and then select EMAIL or SMTP.

This is a list of common U.S. carriers with email extensions. If you do not see your provider, simply Google Text to Email extension for ____ and put your provider's name at the end of that sentence.
Gmail Account Settings:
Step 1: Go to the account settings for the Gmail sender and under security, turn on 2-Step Verification.
Step 2: Then go to the website https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords to create an app password
Step 3: The app password given is the password used in the email settings of the recorder
Yahoo Account Settings:
Step 1: Log into your Yahoo account and go to Account Info.
Step 2: Turn on 2-Step Verification and put in your phone number
Step 3: Click on Generate app password under Two-step Verification, click on Other app or Outlook Android and create a name for your device.
Step 4: Use the app password given and input it for the password in the email settings of the recorder.
Troubleshooting:
- Check the Recorder/ Camera DNS settings under Network > TCP/IP. You may need to set with the google DNS 8.8.8.8 /8.8.4.4
- If not receiving notifications, check the recorder/ camera settings to make sure the appropriate event is enabled and configured
